Jobs and Scholarships Work Study

What is Work Study?

Federal or State Work Study is awarded to students who request employment on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), meet the priority funding deadline(s), and demonstrate financial need. Please refer to the Application Process for receiving financial aid as outlined on Eastern Washington University's website.

A work-study award enables you to work part-time to meet your educational expenses, limit your loan debt, and gain valuable career-related work experience. Work study students can work up to 19 hours per week while classes are in session and are paid at least minimum wage. Your actual earnings depend on the number of hours you work and your hourly wage. Awards are made on a year-by-year basis and renewability is not guaranteed.
