Research interests:
Indigenous women and their historical and contemporary roles within their nations and communities, Indigenous education with an emphasis on teacher preparation and a focus on cultural and language revitalization and preservation, and education as atool for decolonization of Indigenous peoples.

Additional information:
Serves as the Director for the American Indian Studies Program at EWU and prior to coming Eastern was a faculty at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst where she was an affiliated faculty with the Women's Studies Departments at UMass and mount Holyoke College
