The Women's and Gender Studies Program and the Women's Studies Center welcome participation by women and men from the campus community.

Our Mission

Women’s and Gender Studies programs at EWU empower women to achieve dignity and justice through education, scholarship and social change. We are committed to equity, equality and diversity in all areas of life.

Through our theoretical and applied curricula, we help to prepare broadly educated, articulate, thoughtful students, ready to enjoy meaningful careers and enrich lives as engaged citizens in a culturally diverse world.

Not only do we offer excellent academic programs, we offer ALL students numerous resources, including:

  • Noon presentations on a wide variety of topics – free and open to public (see Events)
  • Scholarships pertaining to women announced in our newsletters (see Scholarships)
  • Women's Studies Center Lounge – a comfortable place for student meetings or studying (see The Center)
  • H.O.M.E. (Helping Ourselves Means Education) Program – support for student parents (see H.O.M.E.)
